The 10th Tour of Hainan 2015 flames on again
At 7:30pm on October 19th, 2015- The 10th “HNB Cup” Tour of Hainan International Road Cycling Race was officially open at Xinglong Moon River Square, Wanning City, Hainan Province. Vice Governor of Hainan Province Wang Lu announced open of the race. Municipal Party Secretary of Wanning City Zhang Meiwen made the welcome speech. 20 international participant teams debuted at the opening ceremony, and the 140 athletes will start the 1,487.6 kilometer race in 9 days.
The opening ceremony began with the Li nationality dancing. Then the 20 excellent cycling teams were presented on the stage on by one. Among which, there are three UCI professional teams, respectively Team Lampre-Merida, Astana Pro Team and TREK Factory Team, and five UCI intercontinental professional teams, respectively Poland CCC SPRANDI POLKOWICE team, Team Novo Nordisk, Drapac Professional team, The NIPPO Vini Fantini team, and SOUTHEAST PROFESSIONAL CYCLING TEAM. Last year’s “Dark Horse” champion Team Marseille 13 KTM also participated in the race.
Wu Weixiong, President of HNB (Hainan Rural Credit Cooperative)- the title sponsor of the race, and Wang Xuanqing, Party Committee Secretary of State General Administration of Sports Fencing Sport Management Center also successively sent their wishes for the successful running of the race. Then Vice Governor of Hainan Province Wang Lu announced open of the race. And the leaders and the honored guests unveiled the race by pushing their handprints together on the start button, and at the same time the race route was displayed on the screen, which marks the official open of Tour of Hainan 2015.
Then a short video about the race’s 10-year history and a video titled “The Most Beautiful person of Tour of Hainan” were played. Vice Dean of the executive committee of the race and Vice Director of Department of Culture, Radio, Television, Publication and Sports of Hainan Province Yang Yiguang presented the title and trophy to Michael Roberts, Wu Weihong, Song Guoqiang, and several organizations for their great contributions for the race in the last 10 years.
At the opening ceremony, Vice Dean of the organizing committee and Vice Secretary General of Hainan Provincial Government Zhang Zhenhua also presented Commemorate Plates for the 28 sponsors including Dahon, Yibao, Sanya Bay Mangrove Forest Resort, Tsingtao Beer, Haima Automobile, Hainan Mining, etc. Vice Governor of Hainan Province Wang Lu also presented Commemorate Plates for the title sponsor HNB, the hosting Wanning City, and Co-organizer Tourism Committee of Hainan Province, Sanya City, Chengmai County, Qiongzhong County, etc.
At Last, the opening ceremony was closed with the dance and song of Li nationality features. The year 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of Tour of Hainan, and let’s expect a wonderful show.
