Tunchang

Tun Chang county is situated in the north of central Hainan and is also a hub of transportation network that is latitudal and longitudal through the Island of Hainan within. It is within the Haikou economic circle and is about 85 kilometers from the city of Haikou. The county has a total area of 1231.5 square kilometers and a population of 280,000 with a jurisdiction of 8 towns, 119 village committees and 6 state-operated farms.

The climate is tropical island monsoon type in Tun Chang, warm and humid with. 1900-2100 hours of sunshine, average temperature of 23 degree and annual rainfall of 2350 millimeter. The county is subject to little direct effect of typhoon. There is no frost in the county and it looks as if the spring lasts all year round. Terrain is characterized by hill and semi-hill and the the red soil and sand loam as the main types of soil. The soil is fertile and rainfall is abundant. The county has an area of 1.65 million square agriculture land, of which , farmland is 187,000 mu and forest 1.044 million mu with forest coverage of 57.8℅. Total volume of water resources is 1.593 billion cubic meters. Mineral resources mainly cover Molybdenum ore, gold ore, kaolin, granite, Shuijing Kuang, quartz stone

In Tun Chang county, cash crops － paddy, plant oil, vegetables and fruit in winter, pan potato.

Tropical plants－rubber, pinang, pepper and southern medicine.

Fruit－Sugar cane, lychee, longan, mango, star fruit

Livestocks and poultry－cattle, pig, goat, duck, chicken and goose.

Fresh water cultivation－Tilapia, shrimp, crab

In recent years, the TunChang county has strengthened construction of infrastructure and paid best efforts to build the county to a commercial&trade and logistics center, center for culture, education, spors and health, center for transportation and information. With the implementation of national policies to expand domestic consumption and strategy of speeding up central development by the provincial communist party committee and provincial government, central part of Hainan has embraced the high tide of development and exploration and TunChang county will come to the precious opportunity of development. The Haokou -Tun Chang county expressway and the Hong Ling reservoir are going to be initiated. After the operation of middle-line expressway, the distance between Haikou and Tun Chang will be shortened from 85 kilometers and driving time will be reduced to 40 minutes from 1 hour. After the completion of Hong Ling reservoir, the artery channel stretching through Tun chang county will mainly enough water ofr irrigation, industry, and domestic use. Now the county is planning many projects which include little exit-area of expressway, little area of northeastern of city, south-loop and Muse-leisure area for holiday-making. These will provide a great mount of lands. Under the impetus of these projects, the advantages of Tun Chang county will be more notable in geographical location, transportation hub, natural environment and natural resources. 

Qiongzhong

Qiongzhong County is located in the central part of Hainan Province, Wuzhi Mountain’s hinterland and it is one of a typical central cities and counties in Hainan Province, ethnic minority autonomous counties, old revolutionary major support from the county and the state poverty-stricken counties. The city has a total area of 2693 square kilometers, 80% of the population are the Li and Miao.

There are many national, provincial protected areas in Qiongzhong county just as the Territory Wuzhi Mountain, Li Mother Mountain, Diaoluo Mountain and parrot’s song hill, etc. And the main attractions here are Baihualing waterfalls, Shi-order LITHOGLYPHS, SU LITHOGLYPHS, Baisha Uprising Memorial, Li Mother Mountain Forest Park. Qiongzhong customs are ancient, and Li Miao style is very strong. They are very good at folk songs, and often express their sincere feelings with singing in the labor and production, wedding or funeral, complained worship and so on. The Li women likes to wear the Weave barrel skirt, however, the Miao women like the embroidery and batik. Every 3rd march in calendar is the traditional day to commemorate ancestors and to praise for love. Every this day, people will dress up, rushed to the county to participate in various celebration activities, singing and dancing to celebrate their own festival.

Wanning
