Danzhou

Lying in the west of Hainan, Danzhou has been named one of China's Top Tourism Cities. Due to the area's cultural heritage, Danzhou is called "Town of Poems", "Town of Couplets", "Town of Traditional Arts", and "Town of Songs and Poems". Danzhou's ecology, culture, hot springs, coasts and many other features are worth a visit. You can find both natural scenery including mountains, seas, rivers, lakes, springs and caves and culture in Danzhou. The local dialect of Danzhou, called Danzhou Hua or Xiang Hua is completely different from all other Hainan dialects.

Danzhou also abounds in natural tourism resources, for instance, Stone Water Cave Geoparkwhich was formed 1.4 million years ago, Sontao Reservoir, one of the national top ten reservoirs, and the ancient salt field.

The Danzhou Folk Song Festival is held every year in mid-Autumn, with Danzhou mountain folk Songs, singing competitions, and games.

Lanyang Hot Spring Resort

Lanyang Hot Spring Resort is located at Lanyang Farm, Danzhou City, 140 km from Haikou City. Lanyang Hot Spring is one of the largest hot spring in Hainan, with 2000 tons of daily flow and average temperature of 78.4℃. The spring waters contain rich trace elements conductive to health such as zinc, strontium，lithium and bromine. Proper spring bathing can have some assisted therapy effect to neurasthenia, cardiovascular and rheumatic diseases. There are both hot spring and cold spring in Lanyang. It is surprising that mouths of hot spring and cold spring are just one meter away.

Dongpo Academy

Dongpo Academy is located at Zhonghe Town, Danzhou City. It was originally built in 1098 during the Northern Song Dynasty in memorial of Su Dongpo, a well-known litterateur. It is now a tourist attraction in Hainan.

Dongpo Academy was used to be the institution of higher learning in Danzhou City in the past. It cultivated many talents for the country and has become one of the most famous historical sites of Hainan Province.

Shihua Water Cave Geological Park

In Danzhou's Shihua Water Cave Geological Park, you will take a magical boat ride under the earth, into glittering caves full of wonders.

Glittering sheets of crystals, mysterious underground grottoes, and even golden statues await you inside the Shihua Water Caves.

Danzhou Ancient Saltpan

The thousand-year Saltpan is governed by Yangpu Economic Development Zone, standing on Yantian Village in the south side of Xinying Bay District Office. The saltpan has over 1,200-year history, with the total area of 50 hectares, over 7,300 salt tanks of different shapes, and an annual output of 500 tons. It is the earliest salt making place by insolation as well as the ancient saltpan with the best-protected original method to make salt in China. The process of making salt is ancient, original and unique. Firstly, the seawater will be mixed by the sundried sands from beaches, then filtrated and sundried in the basalt salt tanks to make the salt. The produced salt is white like snow, fine like cotton, and has a moderate taste, with the advantages of natural, fine particles and directly edible. It is the high-quality material of salt.
